Jin Hyuk Chun
Jin Hyuk Chun (b. 2000, South Korea) is a multidisciplinary artist who explores social phenomena through visualizing social observations and ideas in the form of installation, media, and sculpture. The classic dialogue between social structure and an individual’s agency is the general framework of his work where he attempts to have a deeper understanding of the coexistence of the structured and unstructered aspects in the world we live in. His current practice regards history and post-colonial theory focusing on the connection of how the interpretation of the past, history, affects the contemporary life. Through this exploration, he seeks to confront the complexities of history, challenge entrenched perceptions, and imagine pathways toward reconciliation and understanding.
